Dec 08, · About as eclectic as you can get - ranging from classic funk ('Fencewalk') to latin ('Hagalo') to beautiful chill out ('Moroccan Nights'). There's a weird laid back caribbean flavour tune /5(2).
Mandrill – Composite Truth By the time recording commenced for their third album the classic Mandrill line-up was implemented. At the end of the band set up camp at New York’s Electric Lady Land studio’s to record Composite Truth.
Their early albums (Mandrill, Mandrill Is, Composite Truth, Just Outside Of Town, and Mandrilland) are sometimes wild and experimental and sometimes danceable and fun, often times both at once. Their approach is somewhat comparable to early Funkadelic.
Composite Truth is Mandrill's most successful album, commercially as well as artistically. Although the band's sense of freewheeling experimentation had been tempered, its gradual transition to a straight-ahead funk band was made perfect with two of the biggest hits of its career: "Hang Loose" and "Fencewalk."9/
